Pic Talk: Pawan Reading 'Naxalite Udhyamam'

Pawan Kalyan, who sit on a one-day hunger strike in Srikakulam over Uddanam Kidney issue, was spotted with an interesting book during the Diksha. Pawan is seen reading 'Srikakulam Naxalite Udhyamam' (Srikakulam Naxalite Movement) that was penned by Syed Mir Mohammed, the retired Additional SP of Srikakulam.
The book highlights the Naxalite movement in Srikakulam district that rocked the district between 1969 and 1972. The book not only reflected the daredevil acts of sincere police officers but also throws light on the intellectual movement led by Naxal leaders Pyla Vasudeva Rao, Panchadi Krishnamurthi, T Nagi Reddy and Subbarao Panigrahi.

Mir Mohammed, a second-generation police officer, joined the service in 1964 and worked in Srikakulam district from 1969 to 1972 when the Naxal movement was at its peak. In the book, he hasn't hesitated to condemn the atrocities of cops against Naxals. He has revealed the heinous act of an intelligence officer who paraded naked the wife of a Dalam member.

Looks like, Pawan has got some food for thought on Naxal Movement in Srikakulam in early 70s. It's no wonder if he makes some comments on Naxal Movement in Srikakulam in the coming days during his Porata Yatra in the district.
